About Dog Trainer
My Story - Your Long Island Dog Trainer
I started my Long Island dog training journey in 2004. At that time, I retired from my career as an IT project manager.
My wife and I moved to East Setauket from Whitestone. There, I chaired the Freedom Run Dog Owners Association. As its leader, I worked with NYC officials and local representatives to create the Little Bay Dog Run in Bayside.
I managed at and was principle trainer for the Broadway Dog Spa in Hewlett, NY. I also serve as an evaluator for the AKC Canine Good Citizen™ program.
About Me - A Dog Lover My Entire Life
I have owned dogs since I was a child. They have brought great joy into my life. Also, they were an important part of the family. For these reasons, I have been involved with dog charities for years. For example, when Katrina hit Louisiana and then Sandy struck New York I offered my time to help.
I feel fortunate to do something that I love in retirement. We have a very nice life here on Long Island, and I look forward to sharing my knowledge with pet owners. In summary, you deserve the very best Long Island dog trainer.
In addition, I was a professional animal handler with Pet Safe Coalition, Inc. Pet Safe is a non-profit educational cooperative effort of local groups and governments. They work together to assist people and their pets during times of disasters.
I use positive reinforcement and praise when training (I don’t believe in punishment). Read more about my training philosophy in Services
I am an AKC Approved CGC Evaluator
This is a wonderful course created by the AKC in 1989. It lays the foundation for other AKC sports and activities. I am a Long Island dog trainer authorized to evaluate.
